Forij ("we", "us", "our") provides a personal pantry, expiry tracking, and recipe-suggestion service. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from sign-in providers (e.g. Google).
- Pantry & grocery data: items you add (name, brand, category, quantity, expiry date, photos, barcodes, notes) and grocery list entries.
- Household data: invitations you create or accept, and the email addresses you invite.
- Recipe history: AI-generated recipes you save.
- Subscription data: plan tier, status, and Stripe customer ID. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe — we never see them.
- Push subscriptions: browser push endpoint and keys, used only to send the reminders you opt into.
- Usage data: minimal counters such as scans and recipes used, to enforce free-tier limits.
2. How we use your data
- To operate the app — show your pantry, suggest recipes, send expiry reminders.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
- To send AI prompts to model providers (Google, OpenAI) for recipe and photo recognition. Inputs are not used to train their models under our API terms.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Lovable Cloud / Supabase — database, auth, and hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- AI providers — Google and OpenAI, for recipe and image processing.
- Members of your household — items, grocery list, and invites are visible to other accepted members.
4. Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account; this permanently removes your pantry, grocery list, recipes, household data, and authentication record within 30 days.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights in-app via Account → Download my data and Delete account, or by emailing us.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and row-level security to ensure you only see data belonging to you or your household.
7. Children
Forij is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.
9. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
